Team Tilt Enters America’s Cup Finals

The Swiss team “Tilt” managed to enter into the finals of the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup.


The qualifying rounds were intense and the team reached the final round in the fourth place. The final battle for Red Bull Youth America’s Cup title will start on 20th June at the Great Sound, Bermuda.

The Group A teams had tough competition and team Tilt is only two points behind France, which entered the final with third place. Tilt was followed by Denmark who took the fifth place with two points less than Tilt. Team leader SebastienSchneiter did his best to keep off the Denmark team getting a winning finish.

The teams in group A qualified for the finals include Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, and France. The teams in group B qualified for the final run for the title are New Zealand, UK, Spain, and Bermuda.

The tilt crew will get three days before the finals to plant their act, get physical training and to do the briefing. The sports director of the team Tilt Tanguy Cariou is all set to help the team with regrouping and to help avoid committing mistakes they made in the qualifying rounds.

Team Tilt Skipper SebastienSchneiter is not very happy with their performance in the qualifiers. However, he said that the fourth place finish proved that the team is able to sail fast even under pressure. He added that the final race was intense until the end. Over the next few days, the team will be aiming to improve the performance especially the starts.

According to Tanguy Cariou, the team made some errors in the first race, but has managed to qualify after a bad performance the day before. He added that the challenge is tough and the tension is nonstop. The team will have to start from scratch to do the best in the coming finals.
